• Sterling care home seeking damages from Kenai Peninsula Borough mayor's family (peninsulaclarion.com) — A lawsuit filed in Kenai Superior Court claims a Sterling assisted living home is owed more than $100,000 in unpaid room and board tied to the Kenai Peninsula Borough mayor’s family. The facility is asking the court to void a Palmer property transfer, place a lien on it, and recover the alleged debt plus interest and legal fees, though allegations remain unproven. 
• Election 2026: Here's who's running to represent the Kenai Peninsula in state office (kbbi.org) — Central Kenai Peninsula voters, including those in Kenai, will choose among several candidates for Alaska House districts that cover Kenai, Soldotna, Nikiski and surrounding communities in the August 18 primary. The race lineups also set the stage for contests for governor, U.S. House, and U.S. Senate, with most local legislative candidates effectively guaranteed spots on the November ballot.
