• And the winners are: Schumacher, Faulkner, Clendaniel and Leveque win Directors Awards as Alaska's top athletes of the past year (alaskasportsreport.com) — King Cove gets a proud shout-out as UAA basketball standout Elaina Mack, who grew up there, earns the Trajan Langdon Award for sportsmanship, leadership and inspiration. She’s one of several Alaskans honored by the Alaska Sports Hall of Fame this year, alongside Olympic skier Gus Schumacher, cyclist Kristen Faulkner, wrestler Sobina Clendaniel, skier Jack Leveque, coach Jan Buron, and the Kenai Ice Hawks girls hockey team.
