Experts still urge Palmer-area residents to keep their distance because flying debris can be dangerous, even if dust devils are far weaker than tornadoes. 
• Crews defend cabin as 52-acre Yenlo Fire burns southwest of Talkeetna (dailydispatch.com) — Palmer Area Forestry crews helped locate and attack the 52-acre Yenlo Fire burning in a remote area southwest of Talkeetna, protecting a nearby cabin and equipment. Using helicopters, water-scooping aircraft, smokejumpers, and the Pioneer Peak Hotshots, firefighters slowed the fire’s spread and built sawline around about a quarter of its perimeter by Wednesday.
• Join Wasilla Area Seniors for 'Miles for Meals' fun run (matsusentinel.com) — A regional senior nonprofit is gearing up for its Miles for Meals Fun Run, which helps fund weekday meal deliveries from Palmer to Willow. The June 20 event in Wasilla combines a community run with a BBQ, raising money so isolated Mat-Su seniors can receive hot meals and wellness checks at home.
