• Mallard Momma: Duck nest prompts closure of lane in Camp Verde (azfamily.com) — A turning lane on Finnie Flat Road near 7th Street in Camp Verde is temporarily closed so a nesting mallard and her eggs can stay safe. Town officials and the Marshal’s Office ask drivers to respect the closure, avoid disturbing the duck, and remember that mallard nests are protected under federal law through the breeding season.
   

• Missing northern Arizona girl may have been taken by father, authorities say (azfamily.com) — Camp Verde authorities are urgently searching for 7-year-old Acacia Dickison, who investigators say was unlawfully taken by her non-custodial father and may now be in the Camp Verde or Phoenix area. She was last seen Tuesday near Dinky Creek, south of Highway 260 and Forest Road 618. Anyone who spots Acacia is asked to call the Camp Verde Marshal’s Office or local law enforcement immediately.
