Metro Phoenix city launching public ambulance service next year (azcentral.com) — Chandler is taking over its ambulance service in January 2027, adding seven city-run ambulances staffed by firefighter-paramedics and EMTs to improve response times without raising citywide taxes. After years of relying on a private provider, the fire department is hiring 27 new firefighters and support staff, investing about $8.5 million that’s expected to be repaid through service revenue within five years.

Through survivor testimony, creative projects, and memorial designs, Chandler teens explore the stages of genocide and connect past atrocities to the choices people make today.

Homebuilder KB Home moving headquarters from LA to Tempe (kjzz.org) — A major U.S. homebuilder, KB Home, is relocating its headquarters from Los Angeles to Tempe in 2027, a move likely to influence housing and jobs across the East Valley, including Chandler.
