• Chandler cops' real-time sting stops serial gunman during active armed robbery: PD (fox10phoenix.com) — Chandler police say they used license plate reader technology and their Real-Time Operations Center to track a suspect’s minivan and interrupt an armed robbery in progress near Ocotillo Road and Arizona Avenue. Investigators accuse 39-year-old Chalina Harrison of robbing an ARCO and a Big 5 Sporting Goods at gunpoint during a multi-day spree. She remains jailed on multiple armed robbery and aggravated assault charges, with a September court date set. 
• Chandler murder suspect shot victim in back after hours-long dispute, prosecutor says (fox10phoenix.com) — A 59-year-old man is jailed on a $1 million bond after a deadly shooting at a Chandler apartment complex near Germann and McQueen roads early Friday. Prosecutors say an overnight dispute between the suspect and victim escalated until the victim was allegedly shot in the back inside the residence. Police and firefighters responded around 4:30 a.m., and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
• Jakob Butturff, 8-time professional bowling champion from Arizona, dies at 32 (azfamily.com) — Chandler readers are mourning with the bowling world after eight-time PBA Tour champion Jakob Butturff, who lived in the Valley and attended ASU, died unexpectedly at 32. Widely known as “Butters,” he was celebrated for his distinctive style, major titles like the 2019 USBC Masters, and generous spirit. Tributes from fellow pros and local bowling groups highlight his lasting impact on the sport and community.
