Launched here as a pilot in 2024, the 33-minute circuit uses red-light therapy, saunas, and cold plunges, with many Gilbert firefighters reporting better sleep, less pain, and reduced anxiety. The town is now crafting policies to use the rooms right after fire calls.

2. Val Vista Lakes Elementary educator almost said no to Kidcasters. He's glad he didn't. (abc15.com) — Students at Val Vista Lakes Elementary in Gilbert stepped in front of TV cameras as ABC15’s Kidcasters visited their campus near US-60 and Val Vista Drive. Principal Patrick Miller initially hesitated but agreed, watching 24 kids push past nerves, speak on camera, and gain confidence from the experience. He now says he’s grateful he didn’t let his own anxiety deny them that opportunity.

ASU Assistant Football Coach and Former Gilbert High Standout Steven Miller Dies (arizonadailyindependent.com) — Gilbert residents are mourning Steven Miller, a former Gilbert High School football standout who went on to play and coach at Arizona State University and died Wednesday at 29 after a medical incident related to epilepsy.
