• Chamber music with hope: Conductor John Snavely leaves retirement, hatches something new (gvnews.com) — Longtime Green Valley Concert Band conductor John Snavely is coming out of retirement to launch a new ensemble, Camerata Esperanza, and is now seeking musicians for performances planned later this year. After 18 years leading the band and a year of reflection, he says he’s ready for “one more thing” to keep Green Valley’s music scene thriving.
