Peoria police say no one else was hurt, but traffic in the area is heavily restricted while investigators work the scene, so local drivers should avoid the intersection and expect delays.
   

• Buckeye school struck by lightning minutes after students were let inside (azfamily.com) — A powerful monsoon storm knocked out power to about 1,800 Arizona Public Service customers in Peoria while also striking a Buckeye elementary school and flooding highways south of the Valley.
