• Amkor expansion prompts calls for transparency (peoriatimes.com) — Peoria’s City Council has approved a $32.5 million land sale that lets Amkor Technology significantly expand its planned semiconductor campus in north Peoria, projected to bring about 3,000 high-wage jobs by 2028. Some nearby residents, especially in Vistancia, support growth but want clearer answers on water use, safety, traffic, and the broader Peoria Innovation Core vision. City leaders say the deal advances a long-term smart growth and infrastructure strategy.
   

• Arizona Behavioral Therapist Arrested After Kicking Child, 5, With Autism in the Head (usmagazine.com) — A behavioral therapist was arrested after surveillance video showed him kicking a 5-year-old nonverbal autistic child during a session at Soar Autism Center in Peoria. The child was treated at a hospital and released, while the therapist was fired and charged with aggravated assault of a minor. Peoria police say they have no further updates, and the center emphasized its zero-tolerance stance on behavior endangering children.
