602 Day Takes Over Phoenix With Deals, Giveaways And Freebies: What To Know

The city said restaurants, attractions, sports teams and departments will join 602 Day celebrations on June 2.

PHOENIX, AZ — Today, the 602 is celebrating itself.

602 Day is back for its third year, and it's bigger than ever, with more than 350 businesses, restaurants, cultural institutions and community organizations joining in across Phoenix on Tuesday.

The holiday is exactly what it sounds like: a citywide love letter to the 602 area code, dreamed up to get Phoenicians out exploring their own backyard. And if the growth is any indication, it's catching on fast.

The inaugural 602 Day in 2024 drew just over 100 participants. Last year, that number jumped to 250. This year: 350-plus.

"602 Day is a great time to show our pride and embrace the energy and places that make our community special," Mayor Kate Gallego said. "There's no better opportunity to discover something new and celebrate Phoenix."
