Man Arrested On Murder Charge After Body Found In Phoenix Home

Christopher Ebanks, 32, was taken into custody a day after officers found a man dead inside a home near 24th and Oak streets.

PHOENIX, AZ — A Phoenix man was arrested on a murder charge after police found a man dead inside a home where a fight had broken out earlier that evening.

Officers responded around 9 p.m. May 7 to the area of 24th and Oak streets after dispatch received a report that a man had been killed and his body was still inside a nearby residence, said Sgt. Rob Scherer.

When officers entered the home, they found an adult male dead inside.

Detectives later determined the victim had been involved in a fight with another man inside the residence earlier that day, Scherer said.

After following multiple leads, investigators identified the suspect as 32-year-old Christopher Ebanks.

Ebanks was arrested May 8 and booked into jail on a murder charge and additional related charges.

Police said no one else is being sought in connection with the killing, and the victim’s name has not been released.

The investigation remains ongoing.
