• ASU's Landon Hairston wins Baseball America's College Player of the Year (arizonasports.com) — A standout Queen Creek native, ASU outfielder Landon Hairston has been named Baseball America’s 2026 College Player of the Year after a record-breaking sophomore season. He smashed 28 home runs, hit .400, and led the nation in slugging and OPS. Hairston plans to return to Arizona State next season before becoming eligible for the 2027 MLB Draft. 
• Church of Jesus Christ releases guide for new Sunday meeting schedule (deseret.com) — A Queen Creek Latter-day Saint meetinghouse is featured as the church rolls out a worldwide guide for a new Sunday schedule starting September 6. Members will attend sacrament meeting plus two 25-minute classes each week, with updated youth curriculum and resources designed to make worship more focused, participatory, and Christ-centered for families, leaders, and teens.
