• TEP power line approved for Sahuarita area despite opposition (tucson.com) — A new Tucson Electric Power line from southeast Tucson to the Sahuarita area has been approved, promising more reliable electricity for about 14,000 local customers by 2029. Conservation advocates argue the project mainly benefits the planned Copper World Mine, while TEP insists Sahuarita-area residents, not the mine, are the primary beneficiaries and that the company will fund its own separate line.
