• MusicaNova brings 'alt classical' season to Phoenix, Tempe (yourvalley.net) — MusicaNova is bringing its new 'alt classical' season directly to Tempe, opening October 10 at Tempe Center for the Arts with a rare early version of Mahler's First Symphony. A second Tempe concert in February will pair Beethoven's Symphony No. 4 with lesser-heard works, giving local classical fans fresh programs without leaving town. 
• Security expert: school camera likely 'slipped through the cracks' in Corona Del Sol case (abc15.com) — Parents in Tempe are demanding answers and an independent investigation after a former Tempe Union High School District surveillance officer was charged with voyeurism for allegedly saving footage from a camera left running in Corona Del Sol High School's dance room. Police are still identifying victims, pausing the district's internal review, while security experts and parents press for clearer camera policies and more transparency from school leaders.
• Novus Place adds first retailer, Sparky's Shop (azbigmedia.com) — Tempe residents now have a new spot for ASU gear with the opening of Sparky's Shop at Novus Place, the first retailer in the Novus Innovation Corridor. City leaders and ASU officials say the North Tempe mixed-use district is growing quickly, adding restaurants, apartments, offices and a future Marriott hotel that will further reshape the area around the university's arenas.
