If you're interested in having a discussion about local events with members of your community, this might be for you! The goals of our research vary, our upcoming group will involve a presentation of an incident that happened in Tucson, then discussing with others about it and providing your feedback. Participant compensation is at $50/hour send via check.

The University of Arizona Eller College of Management is pleased to announce its annual Breakfast with the Economists presented by JP Morgan Chase. The event takes place on Thursday, June 4 from 8 to 9:45 a.m. at the Westin La Paloma Resort located at 3800 E. Sunrise Drive.

Jennifer Pullen, new executive director of the Economic and Business Research Center (EBRC) and Joe Snell, president and CEO of the Chamber of Southern Arizona, will serve as the event’s keynote speakers. Jennifer will provide analysis and insight on what to expect for the future of Tucson and Arizona economies.

New this year, the program expands to include a featured business panel moderated by Joe Snell, CEO of The Chamber of Southern Arizona, to bring fresh perspectives and expertise from regional leaders on the future of Southern Arizona’s Economy.

The annual Breakfast with the Economists continues to be a valuable and insightful event for our community,” says Karthik Kannan, dean, and Halle Chair in Leadership of the Eller College. “This year, we are especially pleased to have Jennifer Pullen, EBRC’s new director, lead the discussion and share insights on the current state of our local and state economies. We are also excited to partner with Joe Snell and The Chamber of Southern Arizona to introduce a dynamic panel that will deepen the conversation and drive thoughtful discussion.”

<ul><li>Arizona’s and Tucson’s economic slowdown in the past year </li><li>Slower gains in jobs, population, taxable sales, and personal income </li><li>Shifting demographics, including an aging population and reduced migration </li><li>Slower employment cost growth as job churn lost momentum </li></ul>

<ul><li>Where are national, state, and local economies headed next? </li><li>How is global and national uncertainty affecting Arizona? </li><li>Which industries face the greatest disruption from AI? </li><li>Will higher gas prices put upward pressure on inflation? </li><li>What do low graduation rates, youth disconnection, and lagging college attainment mean for Arizona’s workforce?</li></ul>

Cathay Williams, an African American woman, successfully posed as a man and served in the US Army in the 1860s. Floyd Gray will discuss her experiences as a Buffalo Soldier, serving in the 38th Infantry (one of six segregated, all-black regiments) during the Civil War.
Floyd Gray is an Adjunct Researcher in the Department of Geosciences at the University of Arizona. He serves as the Vice President on the Board of Friends of Tucson's Birthplace. The Unusual Suspects is a fast paced comedy crime farce set inside the local Museum of Natural History&nbsp;On Fathers Day, as it is&nbsp;thrown into chaos.
The building has been evacuated, The Midnight Star Jewel has been stolen, and a wave of arrests swept through the museum and its surrounding grounds.
