Tucson storytellers with intellectual, developmental disabilities to share tales of bravery at debut event (azpm.org) — Tucson residents can attend a free storytelling showcase on Aug. 29 at the Baker Center for Public Media, where local adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities will share personal stories of bravery. Backed by Arizona Public Media and Tucson Spotlight, the event includes an art exhibit, panel discussion, and Q&A, and aims to reshape how local media covers the IDD community.
   

2. Suspect in Tucson police recruit killing taken into custody (azcentral.com) — Tucson-area law enforcement arrested Alex James Barnett after a three-hour standoff at an apartment complex near Broadway and Camino Seco, days after a Tucson police recruit was fatally shot and his fiancée wounded. Newly released documents also detail the earlier arrest of another suspect, describe the home invasion as "random and dangerous," and outline the ongoing investigation into a possible third suspect.
   

3. Tucson Now: Mental Health Monday (kold.com) — Tucson mental health professionals from Pima Behavioral Health are sharing practical tips to recognize workplace burnout, from chronic dread about work to persistent sleep problems. Their conversation on 13 News' Tucson Now highlights how local viewers can better manage stress and where to keep watching or streaming Tucson-focused coverage and submit their own news or weather photos.
   

4. Of Blessed Memory: Carla Hinton (azjewishpost.com) — Tucson readers may remember Carla Hinton, a University of Arizona alum and 1989 Woman of Valor honoree at the Tucson Jewish Community Center, who has passed away at 74. Her life spanned decades of work in school psychology, deep social justice commitments, and a lasting love of art and the Southwest desert.
