Spotlight's third hub links Tucsonans to civic power (tucsonspotlight.org) — Tucson residents now have a new Civic Participation hub that maps out voter resources, advocacy groups, and key government offices shaping decisions across the city and Southern Arizona. Built by Tucson Spotlight, it follows earlier hubs on basic needs and immigration, with a fall resource fair and community feedback helping expand the project.
   

2. William Shatner, Lou Ferrigno among stars at Tucson Comic-Con this weekend (tucson.com) — Tucson Comic-Con returns to the Tucson Convention Center this Labor Day weekend, Sept. 4–6, with William Shatner, Lou Ferrigno, and dozens more celebrity and comic guests. Organizers promise expanded exhibit space, a new Hall of Heroes cosplay area, detailed panel schedules, and after-parties at Hotel Congress and the Rialto Theatre, giving local fans plenty to do downtown all weekend.
   

3. Arizona Wildcats to Open 2026 Season by Hosting In-State Rival NAU (kgun9.com) — Arizona Wildcats fans in Tucson can catch the 2026 season opener this Saturday at Casino Del Sol Stadium, where Arizona hosts Northern Arizona under the lights. The in-state matchup includes Native American Heritage recognition, a blue-out for fans, and tickets still starting in the teens, with streaming available on ESPN+ for those watching from home.
   

4. ICYMI: Senator Gallego Brings Fight for Arizona's Future to Southern Arizona, Hears Directly from Nogales Constituents (senate.gov) — Southern Arizona just gained a new Tucson office for Senator Ruben Gallego, aimed at bringing federal staff closer to local residents. During a visit that included a water summit in Tucson and a Nogales town hall, he discussed Colorado River cuts, health care access, and cost-of-living pressures with local leaders and constituents.
