1. Bentonville City Council approves grants to fund road projects (nwahomepage.com) — Bentonville residents will see more road and trail work soon after City Council accepted over $5 million in grants for three local infrastructure projects. Funding will help widen Greenhouse Road shared with Centerton, add a traffic signal and safer crossings at SW I Street and SW 41st Street, and upgrade more than a mile of the John Deshields Trail.
   

2. Bentonville to hold shred-it and electronic recycling event for residents and business owners in October (nwaonline.com) — Bentonville residents and business owners can securely shred documents and recycle electronics at a city event on October 13 behind Fire Station 1 on SW A Street, but preregistration is required. Participants must live or be registered to do business within city limits and bring proof, and most common devices are accepted, with a small fee for older tube TVs.
   

3. Benton County Quorum Court approves creating fund for ICE program (arkansasonline.com) — Benton County's Quorum Court in Bentonville unanimously created a dedicated fund for the Sheriff's 287(g) ICE partnership and authorized seeking a $45 million federal grant to expand the county jail. The packed meeting drew sharply divided public comments and protests outside, while a Bentonville City Council member backed the fund as a way to track and transparently manage immigration-related reimbursements that could affect local law enforcement and taxes.
   

4. 'You are loved': Pilot sends a simple message through his flight path (fox8.com) — A pilot took off from Bentonville and spent more than five hours tracing a flight path that spelled out "you are loved" alongside a giant fingerprint over Northwest Arkansas. Sharing the artwork and suicide prevention hotline on social media, he urged people here and beyond to reach out to loved ones and check in on their mental health.
   

5. Crystal Bridges hosting Indigenous Arts Symposium next month (nwahomepage.com) — Bentonville's Crystal Bridges Museum will host a free Indigenous Art Symposium on October 16–17, inviting locals to explore how Indigenous artists are reshaping American art history. The two-day event will feature prominent artists and curators from major institutions, with discussions, relationship-building, and new works from the museum's expanded collection; advance online registration is requested.
