• You might soon be able to carry open containers of alcohol outside in Eureka Springs, Ark. (ky3.com) — Eureka Springs leaders and business owners are weighing whether to create a permanent downtown ā€œentertainment districtā€ where people could carry open containers of alcohol outside between Mountain and Central streets. Supporters say visitors already expect to walk with drinks, while some residents worry about infrastructure, safety, and the town’s family-friendly feel. The proposal hasn’t reached city council yet, but could surface at the April 27 meeting.

• Turpentine Creek earns Transparency Rating, Top Safari Park (nwahomepage.com) — Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge in Eureka Springs just earned Candid’s top Platinum Seal of Transparency and was ranked the nation’s second-best safari park by USA Today readers. The refuge says the honors reflect its open financial reporting and long-term care for rescued big cats. Leaders credit supporters, staff, and volunteers for helping give these animals a safer future.

• 77 graduate Camden ALETA Class 2026-A - (arkadelphian.com) — A Eureka Springs Police Department officer, Dylan Lamb, was among 77 cadets graduating this week from the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy in Camden, earning top honors in the emergency vehicle obstacle course. The class drew recruits from departments across Arkansas and focused on intensive training in law, firearms, fitness, and community engagement to prepare new officers for service.
