Kelleher Award for her 25 years of service at Baptist Health-Fort Smith. She says caring for patients in the River Valley community where she grew up, lives, and shops makes the recognition especially meaningful and helps build trust with local families. 
• Born in Arkansas 86 Years Ago Today, the Hall of Fame Songwriter Who Overcame Tragedy To Pen Hits for George Jones, Johnny Paycheck, and More (americansongwriter.com) — Country songwriter Wayne Kemp, who wrote hits for legends like George Jones and Conway Twitty, was born in Greenwood in 1940 before growing up in nearby Oklahoma. His career overcame a devastating car crash to produce chart-topping songs and eventually earn induction into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.
