• Poinsett County sheriff responds to lawsuit filed by former 911 director (thewynneprogress.com) — In Harrisburg, Poinsett County Sheriff Kevin Molder is publicly responding to a federal lawsuit filed by former 911 director Stacy Cooper, who alleges she was fired for political support, sexual harassment, and free-speech violations. Molder says Cooper was repeatedly warned about overtime and policy issues, and notes the quorum court backed her termination as the case proceeds before a federal judge. 
• Harrisburg man killed, four others injured in crash (kait8.com) — A Harrisburg man was killed and four passengers were injured in a rollover crash early Monday on Big Creek Road in Floral, Independence County. Arkansas State Police say 42-year-old William Wesley Clary’s vehicle left the road on a curve, ejecting him and a passenger, and sending four others, including a minor, to White River Medical Center.
