September Parks & Recreation Commission Meeting - Marketing Subcommittee - City of Little Rock (littlerock.gov) — Little Rock residents can weigh in on city parks at the Parks & Recreation Commission Marketing Subcommittee meeting on Sept. 9, from 11:00 to 11:30 a.m. The volunteer commission advises on park plans, fees, and facilities, and reports annually to the Board of Directors. Community participation is encouraged to help shape the future of Little Rock's green spaces.
   

2. College of Humanities, Arts, Social Sciences, and Education Strengthens Leadership Team for New School Year (ualr.edu) — Faculty, staff, and students at UA Little Rock will see several familiar faces in new leadership roles within the College of Humanities, Arts, Social Sciences, and Education this school year. Interim chairs, directors, and a new finance director are stepping up from within the campus community. The dean says the strengthened team should provide continuity and support for students and programs.
   

3. Little Rock AFB Engages Industry for Future $600M Construction Contract (af.mil) — A major $600 million construction contract vehicle is being planned for Little Rock Air Force Base, with local and regional firms already engaging through a recent Industry Day in Jacksonville. The contract will fund a wide range of base construction projects that support C-130 missions, training, and quality-of-life facilities for Airmen and their families in the Little Rock area.
   

4. The Beat Goes On: North Little Rock's atg Pavilion to Honor State's Musical Giants (aymag.com) — North Little Rock's Argenta Arts District is preparing to open the atg Pavilion in late October, a new space honoring 21 influential Arkansas musicians with bronze sculptures and a striking, chapel-inspired design. The pavilion will anchor the Argenta Music Complex, support community events, boost music tourism, and serve as an educational hub highlighting the state's rich musical legacy.
   

5. Little Rock chamber kicks off Minority Enterprise Week with business, nonprofit finalists (katv.com) — Little Rock's Regional Chamber is spotlighting minority-led businesses and nonprofits ahead of its 44th Minority Enterprise Development Week, with finalists including TruClean Arkansas and Plaza Frida in southwest Little Rock. The celebration on Sept. 24 will honor organizations creating jobs, youth sports opportunities, and a multicultural business hub. Local residents can expect more visibility for these community-focused enterprises.
