• Manila firefighter named State Rookie of the Year (neatowncourier.com) — Manila residents can celebrate one of their own: firefighter Casey Henry has been named Arkansas State Firefighters Association Rookie of the Year, honoring his service to the citizens of Manila. Fire Chief Sonny Dill praised Henry’s dedication, professionalism, and positive attitude, calling the statewide recognition well deserved and a reflection of his commitment to the community.

• Locals among Arkansas governor's appointments - (arkadelphian.com) — Manila resident Jonathan Frazier has been appointed to the state’s Criminal Justice Institute Advisory Board, giving the town a direct voice in Arkansas law-enforcement training oversight. Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders also named dozens of other Arkansans to key higher education, aviation, health, and advisory boards across the state.

• Studio 42 announces upcoming events (neatowncourier.com) — Families in and around Manila can look forward to live theatre at the Manila High School auditorium this summer, thanks to Studio 42 and Company. The group is bringing a 101 Dalmatians Kids Camp performance on July 11 and multiple showings of 13 The Musical from July 30 through August 2, aiming to grow arts education across Mississippi County and Northeast Arkansas.
