Extension Service celebrates Arbor Day with local, statewide events, tree giveaways (pbcommercial.com) — Mountain Home residents can pick up up to five free tree seedlings at the Baxter County Extension Office on April 24 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The giveaway is part of statewide Arbor Day activities promoting tree planting, with experts offering guidance on how to properly plant and care for the bare-root trees. Additional tree-focused events are planned in other Arkansas counties.

Elrod Service Enrichment Grants encourage servant leadership through the classroom - (arkadelphian.com) — A Ouachita Baptist University program is funding classroom-based service projects across Arkansas, from therapy support in Arkadelphia to cybersecurity outreach and humanitarian aid education. One participant, business major Katy Beth Dunn from Mountain Home, says the Elrod Service Enrichment Grant experience deepened her sense of service and leadership she’ll carry back to her home community.
