Unity Health Opens New Adolescent Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program in Searcy (neareport.com) — A new residential Adolescent Recovery & Wellness program for ages 12–17 is opening this month at Unity Health – Specialty Care on South Main Street in Searcy, offering 24/7 supervised treatment for substance use disorders. The 24-bed unit accepts Medicaid, uses evidence-based therapies, and welcomes referrals from families, schools, courts, and community agencies, aiming to keep Arkansas youth’s recovery care close to home. 
2. 'Meet Me In St. Louis' playing in Searcy for next two weekends at Center on Square (whitecountycitizen.com) — Center on the Square in downtown Searcy is staging the classic musical “Meet Me in St. Louis” over the next two weekends, with evening and matinee shows and live music. Nearly 40 local actors, including many familiar community performers, bring the family-centered story to life, with tiered ticket prices and details available on the theater’s website.
3. Jacob's Place launches shoe drive fundraiser (whitecountycitizen.com) — Jacob’s Place Homeless Mission is running a shoe drive through September, and Searcy residents can donate gently used pairs at drop boxes at Jacob’s Place and the city’s police and fire stations. Collected shoes both fund local shelter expansion for families and support small-business owners in developing countries, turning your extra footwear into housing, food, and fresh starts for others.
4. White County Farm Family of Year: Vinsons even have own YouTube channel (whitecountycitizen.com) — White County’s Farm Family of the Year, Ben and Andrea Vinson of VW Family Farm near Rose Bud, have grown from raising food for themselves to running a 700-acre operation with their own market and YouTube following. Andrea, who grew up in Searcy, and her family now raise cattle, pigs, chickens, lambs, and produce, and will learn later this year if they earn the Arkansas Farm Family of the Year title.
5. Bert J. Leonard (greybullstandard.com) — Searcy is mourning 96-year-old Bert J. Leonard, who passed away July 13 while living at Jackson & Company Senior Living and had relocated here with his wife Dolores to be near family. Remembered for his faith, service, and handyman skills, he leaves behind children in Searcy and Tontitown, four grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren; a private family service is planned.
