The project must be completed within two years or the property reverts to the bank, and city leaders are pursuing grants and financing to cover most of the cost before a final vote expected in May or June.

City continues work on new road project near Wynne Primary School (thewynneprogress.com) — Drivers near Wynne Primary School can expect a new connector street between Falls Boulevard and Lemons Street as the city advances right-of-way purchases using a federal EDA grant. The design includes three lanes at Falls and room for a future traffic light, aimed at improving safety and traffic flow around the school area.

Suspect arrested in Wynne deadly shooting (kark.com) — A man has been arrested after a deadly daytime shooting at C Street and Fitzhugh Circle in Wynne, where a 34-year-old victim later died at the hospital. State Police are investigating at Wynne Police’s request, and a nearby K Street home was heavily damaged during law enforcement activity. Authorities have not yet explained what led to the shooting or the house damage.
