11th Annual Alameda Hogmabay Pipe-athon raises over $4k for American Cancer Society
Fundraiser for ACS

Undeterred by the miserable weather, for the 11th year the Alameda Hogmabay Pipe-athon took over 18 bars and restaurants on NYE, with Andy MacKay playing Auld Lang Syne on the bagpipes to wish everyone a Happy New Year, and raised over $4,400 for American Cancer Society, more than double our target!
Andy was accompanied by Team Pipe-athon, including Jake Blues (Pep Montes), Elwood Blues (Feargal MacKay), Sister Mary Stigmata (Kobe Keiner), and Jock McSporran (Liam Sandoval-Johnson), who cajoled much appreciated donations from the wonderful people of Alameda. The team was ably supported by Pipe-mobile Driver Ken Johnson, and Video Guru Caimin MacKay.
Many thanks to all the bars and restaurants that welcomed us on our rain-soaked trip around The Island:
McGees, Park Street Tavern, Speisekammer, Town Tavern, Star Pizza, Lemon Drop, Hobnob, Lucky 13, Club House, Park Station, The Benton, Swell, Forbidden Island, The Boathouse, Alameda Yacht Club, Wally's, Fireside, 1400 Bar & Grill.
A special thanks to our first and last bars, to Tim and the McGee's staff, and Yanni and the 1400 Bar and Grill staff!
Donations can still be made via: hogmabay.org or Venmo: @pipeathon2025 - every penny goes to ACS to continue their valuable work!
Many thanks to all and Happy New Year!
