• Man Accused Of Arson In Alameda Apartment Fire That Injured 2: Police (patch.com) — Alameda police and firefighters are investigating a suspected arson that tore through an apartment building on Central Avenue, injuring at least two people and forcing dramatic rescues from the third floor. Crews battled heavy flames that damaged six units and displaced at least 12 residents, while the Red Cross stepped in to help those affected. Authorities say the Alameda resident arrested was already out on release in another case.

Trucked from Castle Air Museum in Atwater, the aircraft's wings, fuselage, and tail are already aboard, with its engine due soon, promising a major new draw for local visitors and history buffs.
