• Church letter postmarked in 1955 returned to sender (ksl.com) — Christ Episcopal Church in Alameda recently received a letter returned by the post office that was originally mailed in 1955, containing a long-delayed baptismal certificate. The church is now trying to reach the baptized woman's family, possibly linked to the former Alameda air base, and is asking anyone with information to contact them.

By the early 1920s, he was selling his "Epsicles" at Neptune Beach in Alameda, linking a beloved summer snack to the city's former waterfront amusement park and its role in early West Coast leisure culture.
