ALAMEDA, CA — John MacKenzie shared this stunning photo of a Marbled Godwit in flight. He took it recently at the Elsie Roemer Bird Sanctuary in Alameda.

The Marbled Godwit is not a globally endangered bird, but is unusual in the Bay Area as it is just passing through during migration.
