• Volunteers clear brush in Altadena as 9/11 Day of Service events continue (foxla.com) — Altadena neighbors turned out on Maiden Lane this morning to clear brush from vacant lots, supporting recovery from the Eaton Fire while honoring 9/11 through hands-on service. Organized by LA Works with the Altadena Talks Foundation, the effort is part of a multi-day regional project that began at a firefighter training center and continues Sunday in Hollywood, with local organizers still seeking more volunteers and donations.

Two new California bills, inspired partly by Eaton Fire survivors, would set first-in-the-nation standards for testing and remediation and require insurers to pay for proper assessments, faster inspections, and extended living expenses until homes are truly safe.
