A California hardware store reopens 19 months post-wildfire (marketplace.org subscription) — Altadena Hardware, a longtime local staple destroyed in the Eaton Fire, has reopened in a temporary home at Arnold's Frontier Hardware in nearby Sierra Madre while its Altadena site is rebuilt. Owner Jimmy Orlandini describes the long recovery and why this move keeps serving Altadena-area customers until the store can return home.
3. Orange County Register – State wildfire reform deal dies at last-minute amid pushback from Edison, PG&E (consumerwatchdog.org) — State lawmakers have shelved a major wildfire liability reform bill that survivors of the deadly Eaton fire in Altadena had closely watched, arguing it favored utilities over victims. The decision leaves questions about future compensation and utility accountability unresolved, even as Altadena families and other survivors continue pushing for stronger protections in the next legislative session.

- George's Junior Market on Altadena Drive and Lincoln Avenue will officially reopen on Saturday, September 12th!
It is gorgeous and exceptionally decorated on the inside. (Nextdoor La Vina) - Pasadena Nails and skin is actually in Altadena across from Nancy's Greek kitchen and next to the gelato place.
Their business is really struggling since the fire. I was just there and it is lovely! The atmosphere is wonderful and they do a great job. Please… (Nextdoor Central Altadena)
