• Bear Returns to Altadena Neighborhood, Enters Crawlspace (mynewsla.com) — A well-known tagged bear nicknamed Yellow 2120 has again been spotted using home crawlspaces for shelter in an Altadena neighborhood, prompting wildlife officials to urge residents to secure under-house access points. After briefly occupying a Minoru Drive crawlspace, the bear moved on, but authorities say it's still roaming locally and ask residents to call law enforcement if they see it.
   

• LA County approves final $54.2B budget for FY2026-27 (sgvtribune.com) — Los Angeles County has approved a $54.2 billion budget that leaders say protects core services while covering major legal costs and slowing revenue growth. One supervisor stressed that Altadena's long-term recovery from the Eaton Fire, including over $2 billion in damaged infrastructure, will require resources beyond what the county alone can fund, keeping local rebuilding needs in the spotlight.
   

• Toy Industry Raises $470,000 for Children Impacted by LA Wildfires at Golf & Give FUNdraiser (toyassociation.org) — A major toy-industry Golf & Give fundraiser has raised $470,000, with part of the money headed to help rebuild Altadena's Crosby Child Care Center, badly damaged in the January 2025 Eaton Fire. The grant will replace ruined toys, furniture, and learning materials, building on earlier support that helped Woodbury Preschool Village in Altadena reopen with refreshed classrooms and outdoor play areas.
