• Anderson HHS office closing for a week starting June 15 (actionnewsnow.com) — If you rely on the Anderson Health and Human Services eligibility office, plan ahead: the East Center Street location will be closed June 15–21 for carpet replacement and reopen June 22. During the shutdown, Anderson residents can still get CalFresh, CalWORKs, General Assistance, and Medi-Cal help online, by phone, or at other nearby offices in Redding and Burney.
   

• Erin Resner wins Shasta County supervisor seat in major shift (redding.com) — Shasta County voters have elected Redding Councilwoman Erin Resner to the District 1 supervisor seat, signaling a shift away from the board’s recent rightward tilt. For Anderson residents, Councilman Mike Gallagher is headed to a November runoff for the District 5 seat after carrying the vote in Anderson against incumbent Chris Kelstrom, with only a handful of ballots left to count.
   

• Driver arrested for DUI after crashing into parked car in Eureka (krcrtv.com) — A 24-year-old Anderson resident was arrested in Eureka after allegedly crashing into a parked car on Williams Street early Thursday and showing signs of alcohol intoxication, police said. The passenger suffered moderate injuries and was taken to a local hospital, while the driver faces felony DUI charges related to causing injury and having a blood alcohol level of 0.08% or higher.
