• Appeal won't stop new SLO County apartments. ‘The damn project's going in anyway' (sanluisobispo.com) — A 92-unit Creekside Junction apartment complex on James Way is moving forward after the Arroyo Grande City Council voted 3-1 to deny an appeal from neighboring property owners. Residents and nearby businesses argued the four‑story project lacks adequate parking and raises safety concerns, but council members cited state pro‑housing laws and the risk of costly litigation as reasons they had little choice but to let it proceed.
   

• Man took videos of nearly 50 naked women at SLO County gym, police say (fresnobee.com) — Arroyo Grande police are investigating a man suspected of secretly filming nearly 50 women in tanning and therapy rooms at the local Planet Fitness throughout 2025. Officers have found dozens of videos but can’t arrest the suspect until the District Attorney issues a warrant, and they’re asking any women who may have used those rooms to contact investigators.
   

• 88-year-old dies after being hit by vehicle in Pismo Beach parking lot (sanluisobispo.com) — An 88-year-old Arroyo Grande man died Thursday after being struck by a vehicle in the Med Plus parking lot off Oak Park Boulevard in Pismo Beach. First aid was given on scene and he was taken by ambulance, but he died en route to the hospital. Police say the driver stayed and cooperated, and investigators do not suspect drugs or alcohol.
