1. A new monarch butterfly habitat opened in this SLO County city. Take a look (sanluisobispo.com) — Atascadero has opened a nearly one-acre monarch and pollinator habitat at the Highway 101 and 41 off-ramp, planted with native species and milkweed to support migrating butterflies. The city, local partners, and Atascadero High School students all contributed, while the Central Coast Zoo will monitor butterfly activity. Residents can view the habitat from the sidewalk, but it’s not a park for lingering or picnics.

2. Atascadero mixer connects professionals from across the region (atowndailynews.com) — Downtown Atascadero’s BridgeWorks will host a free Central Coast Tech Networking Mixer on Tuesday, June 16, welcoming entrepreneurs, job seekers, and remote workers. Expect pizza, plenty of networking, and conversations about tech, hiring trends, and life on the Central Coast. Registration is open online and attendees are encouraged to bring business cards or LinkedIn QR codes.

3. Summer Movies in the Park returns to Atascadero (atowndailynews.com) — The City of Atascadero is bringing back free Summer Movies in the Park at Colony Park Softball Field No. 2, with screenings on June 13 and August 29. Families can enjoy games starting at 7 p.m., then watch “Zootopia 2” and “Footloose” under the stars. Food will be for sale, and blankets or low-back chairs are encouraged.

Atascadero Lakeside Wine Festival returns Saturday (atowndailynews.com) — Atascadero’s Lakeside Wine Festival is back this Saturday at Atascadero Lake Park and the Central Coast Zoo, running from 4 to 8 p.m. You’ll find local wineries, food, live music, artisan vendors, and zoo access, all hosted by the Atascadero Chamber of Commerce. Tickets are available online or at the gate.
