The five-year tax is intended to support county healthcare and public health services, but it adds to already steep local costs like high gas and housing prices across Southern California. 
• Classic SoCal In-N-Out named most iconic burger joint in the state (nypost.com) — Baldwin Park's original In-N-Out has just been named California's most iconic burger spot, highlighting the city's role as the chain's birthplace and current corporate home. A replica of the 1948 stand, nearby gift shop, and In-N-Out University now draw burger fans to Baldwin Park as the company shifts its headquarters back from Irvine.
• Reps. Cisneros, Chu Introduce Bill to Fund Clean Drinking Water (house.gov) — Baldwin Park residents could see long-term benefits to their drinking water as a new congressional bill seeks $250 million and removes funding caps for cleaning the San Gabriel Basin groundwater.
