2 Killed In Plane Crash In Inland Empire

HESPERIA, CA — Two people were killed after a single-engine airplane crashed Thursday morning in a remote part of Hesperia, officials said.

The aircraft reportedly crashed just before 10 a.m. near Summit Valley Road and Maple Avenue in Hesperia, according to the Hesperia Police Department.

First responders found two people inside the plane who were pronounced dead at the scene.

The identities of the two deceased were not yet known.

It was unclear where the plane was headed to or from where it had departed. Hesperia Airport is located about 3 miles away from the site of the crash.

The crash is under investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board.
