MSJC Makes History, Appoints Woman New Superintendent-President
The appointment comes after a national search MSJC conducted with the Association of Community College Trustees.
SAN JACINTO, CA —The Mt. San Jacinto Community College (MSJC) Board of Trustees announced Thursday it has appointed Dr. Tawny Dotson, president of Yuba College, as the district's next superintendent-president, becoming the first woman to hold the post.
Dotson was appointed by the board following a national search MSJC conducted with the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT).
Last year, Dr. Roger W. Schultz, who was appointed to the role in 2008, announced plans to retire in the summer this year after spending 38 years in higher education, including 25 years at MSJC.

"In Dr. Tawny Dotson, we have found the ideal complement to the exceptional legacy built by Dr. Roger Schultz and the entire MSJC community over the past nearly two decades," he added.

Dotson is expected to start on July 1, pending final contract approval at the board meeting on May 14.
