The victim was transported to a local hospital where he died about a half-hour later.

RIVERSIDE, CA — A collision in Riverside that claimed the life of a 26-year-old motorcyclist was triggered when the driver of a sedan pulled out of a parking lot and into the path of the rider, authorities said Wednesday.

Dylan Monterola Alas of Moreno Valley was fatally injured just after 7 p.m. Saturday on MLK Boulevard, near Angelo Street, at one of the entrances and exits to Bordwell Park, according to the Riverside Police Department.

Detective Steve Espinosa confirmed Wednesday that Alas was traveling eastbound on MLK at an unconfirmed speed when the other driver, whose identity was not disclosed, exited the park, "making a left-hand turn onto MLK."
