RivCo Teen's Death Tied To Weight Loss Shot: Report

The death of a Riverside County teen studying in London has been tied to a popular weight loss drug, according to the Daily Mail.

The outlet reported 19-year-old Josephine Nasr of Corona died in her University of East London dorm, where an empty vial of Tirzepatide was discovered in her room after staff on Sept. 23, 2025, broke in to see if she was alright. An Aug. 3 inquest linked the drug to her death, according to the Mail.

Nasr, who was overweight but not obese, was prescribed the drug during the summer of 2025 by a California doctor, the outlet reported, adding she was found to have died from a cardiac arrhythmia due to myocardial bridging and an electrolytes imbalance from hypoglycemia caused by Tirzepatide.

Before her death, she told her parents and sister she had been experiencing nausea and vomiting, both of which are among Tirzepatide’s side effects, according to the Daily Mail.

A former student of Santiago High School, her father described her as “full of joy,” the outlet reported.
