See Smoke In Calimesa? Here's What's Happening

Multiple freeway drivers reported seeing smoke in the San Timeteo Canyon area.

CALIMESA, CA — Drift smoke in the Calimesa area led multiple callers to report a possible fire Thursday morning, the city of Calimesa confirmed.

Around 7:15 a.m., numerous drivers on the nearby I-10 freeway reported seeing smoke in the area of Calimesa Boulevard and Singleton, according to Calimesa's Deputy City Clerk Yaiza Benson. "This was from a prescribed burn in San Timeteo Canyon," she said.

Smoke could be seen from Calimesa and Yucaipa to Redlands and Moreno Valley, according to reports.

The prescribed burn will address about 190 acres in that area. Smoke was visible throughout the area.
