Marcus, Manouchehri Lead School Board Race: Early Election Results
The polls are closed in Beverly Hills, and voters have had their say on the school board race and many county-wide races.

BEVERLY HILLS, CA — The polls are closed in Beverly Hills, and voters will soon know the fate of the Beverly Hills Unified School District's board of education and a number of key county races.
The most recent results from the Los Angeles County Clerk were updated at 3:35 a.m. Wednesday morning and reflect 23.4 percent of the county's votes. The next ballots counted will be a random selection of batches for the one percent manual tally that will take place on Thursday, Nov. 10 at 10:15 a.m.
According to the County Clerk's office, voters should expect to see more updates between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 11. A full timeline for the Canvass Update Schedule is available at this link. The final results won't be released until December, according to the schedule.

Five candidates fought for two seats on the Beverly Hills Unified School District Board of Education. Both Rachelle Marcus and Gabriel Halimi have terms ending in 2022, and only Marcus ran for re-election.
Marcus led Wednesday morning with 32.45 percent of the vote, followed by Judith Manouchehri with 29.62 percent and Michal A. Salkin with 18.39 percent based on some mail-in ballots and in-person votes.

Newest City Council member Sharona Nazarian took to Instagram Tuesday night to celebrate Marcus and Manouchehri's early success.
"Congratulations Judy Joon! We are fortunate to have such a dedicated leader in our schools like you!" Nazarian said in an Instagram story.
Long Beach Police Chief Robert Luna had a strong lead in the contentious Los Angeles County Sheriff's race, leading over incumbent Alex Villanueva. Luna had 56.78 percent of the vote Wednesday morning.
State senator Bob Hertzberg and West Hollywood City Council member Lindsey Horvath fought for the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, District 3 seat.
Hertzberg led Wednesday morning with 50.78 percent of the vote. Horvath trailed with 49.22 percent, based on early returns reflecting some mail-in ballots and in-person votes.
"I am so incredibly proud of our people-powered campaign to bring much needed change and equity to Los Angeles County. As we saw in the primary, there are still a lot of votes left to be counted. We are optimistic we will prevail when the final results are certified," Horvath said. "No matter what happens, I am confident our diverse coalition of supporters will continue to fight for our shared vision."
County voters also weighed in on a ballot measure for county authorities to be able to remove a sheriff and a cannabis business tax. Visit this link for a full list of ballot measures in LA County.
As of Oct. 24, 21,931 people were registered to vote in Beverly Hills. 9,408 people were registered democratic compared to 5,426 registered republican. Some 5,781 voters were registered without party preference, according to Los Angeles County Registrar data.
