Friends are raising money to replace essentials and secure stable housing so he can keep making the Burlingame trips and stay present for her care despite this devastating setback.
   

• Mountain View football eyes playoffs in tough De Anza Division (losaltosonline.com) — Burlingame High's football team is highlighted as one of Mountain View's toughest league rivals in the Peninsula Athletic League's De Anza Division this fall. With only two automatic playoff berths available, Burlingame, Half Moon Bay, Palo Alto, San Mateo and Woodside will all be battling Mountain View for limited postseason spots in a newly restructured CCS playoff system.
   

• Senate bill, other measures, look to solve problematic Bay Area e-bike use (mercurynews.com) — Burlingame is among several Bay Area cities now requiring riders to dismount e-bikes in public parks, part of a wider push to rein in high-speed electric bikes and scooters. State lawmakers and local officials are weighing new rules, pilot bans for younger riders, and better infrastructure and education to improve safety without eliminating climate-friendly mobility options.
