• Los Angeles County Nears Its Rabid Bat Record with 66 Detections as California Tallies 252 Animal Rabies Cases (medicaldaily.com) — Rabid bats have been confirmed across Los Angeles County this year, including in Calabasas yards, pools, and even inside homes, prompting health officials to urge residents not to touch bats and to keep pets vaccinated. With county detections nearing a record and California's animal rabies cases already high, locals are advised to report any sick or indoor bats and seek medical advice after possible contact.
