• New Temporary Fee Schedule Coming to Calexico (calexicochronicle.com) — Calexico residents and business owners will see lower fees for common building, planning, and encroachment permits under a new three-year temporary schedule approved by the City Council. Councilmembers also formed an ad hoc committee to explore a 2026 public-safety sales tax measure and reallocated $76,573 in FEMA/ARPA funds to repair and upgrade Calexico Fire Department vehicles, radios, and protective gear without tapping the general fund. 
• Yellowjackets explode late to shut out Bulldogs 12-0 (thedesertreview.com) — Calexico baseball fans saw a tough night as the Bulldogs were shut out 12-0 by Palo Verde, which broke the game open with a big seventh inning. Strong Yellowjackets pitching and timely hitting kept Calexico off the board, and the teams meet again Friday as Palo Verde looks to complete a series sweep.
