1. A look inside Camarillo boys volleyball team's dominant season (vcstar.com) — Camarillo High’s boys volleyball team is tearing through the Coastal Canyon League, unbeaten against local opponents and on the verge of clinching the league title after last year’s early playoff exit. Led by high-flying hitter Stanley Filiaga and breakout setter Zenji Arias, the Scorpions have posted their winningest season since 2012-13 and head into key matches against Simi Valley and Oak Park with big postseason hopes.

Camarillo man who died near Newbury Park during group bike trip ID'd (vcstar.com) — A 76-year-old Camarillo resident, Dean Robertson, has been identified as the cyclist who died during a group e-bike ride in Sycamore Canyon at Point Mugu State Park on April 11. Officials say he suffered cardiac arrest linked to cardiovascular disease despite extensive resuscitation efforts by fellow riders and emergency crews.

3. Beef: Is Monte Vista Point Country Club Based on a Real Club? (moviedelic.com) — Fans of the Netflix series “Beef” might be surprised to learn that the fictional Monte Vista Point country club was filmed at Spanish Hills Club right here in Camarillo.
