• Capitola woman says she was attacked by a sea lion (nbcbayarea.com) — A Capitola woman was knocked from her board and bitten by a sea lion between Capitola Wharf and Privates Beach, leaving her needing tetanus and rabies shots. Marine experts say sea lion bites are rare and can't confirm whether domoic acid, which is sickening many sea lions along the coast, played a role.
