• Carlsbad Unified School District Adopts New E-Bike Safety Policy in Partnership with the City of Carlsbad (northcountydailystar.com) — Families in Carlsbad Unified should know the district has adopted its first comprehensive e-bike and bicycle safety policy, aligned with the City of Carlsbad's rules. Younger students are barred from using e-bikes near campuses, while older riders need safety training and permits, with coordinated enforcement by schools and Carlsbad Police to keep trips to and from school safer.

• Developer withdraws application to build 33 condos in Carlsbad's Village (sandiegouniontribune.com) — A controversial 33‑condo mixed‑use project in Carlsbad's downtown Village has been pulled from the City Council agenda after city staff found tenant‑protection violations under California's Housing Crisis Act. The Roosevelt Street proposal would have demolished eight affordable apartments, whose former tenants were reportedly displaced without required notice or relocation aid. Developers say they'll rework plans, while local advocates push for stronger tenant safeguards.
