• Corgi found dead following Castaic house fire (signalscv.com) — Firefighters knocked down a garage fire Wednesday afternoon on Hipshot Drive in Castaic, where a 12-year-old corgi was later found dead inside the home. No people were reported injured, and officials are still investigating the cause and extent of the damage after a large multi-agency response.
   

• Barger announces return of Santa Monica Beach Bus (signalscv.com) — Families in Castaic can catch a $4 round-trip Beach Bus from the Ryan M. Clinkunbroomer Castaic Sports Complex to Santa Monica every Friday this summer and on Labor Day. Buses leave at 9 a.m., return by early evening, and reservations are strongly encouraged through LAGoBus.com up to 10 days in advance.
