📰 News we're reading
• CUSD zeroes in on three possibilities for junior high renaming (cerescourier.com) — Ceres families will soon learn whether Cesar Chavez Junior High will be renamed for former Mayor Louis Arrollo, astronaut José Hernandez, or the Eastgate neighborhood, with CUSD board meetings set for June 11 and June 18. The finalists reflect deep local roots, educational inspiration, and a prominent Ceres area as the district responds to community input on the school’s new identity.

• Lady Sharx staging volleyball camp (cerescourier.com) — Families in Ceres can sign kids ages 5-17 up now for the June 23-25 Lady Sharx volleyball camp at Ceres High School, led by longtime local coach Kelly Heese. Sessions at Phil de la Porte Gym will focus on fundamentals, teamwork, and confidence-building, with instruction from current and former high school and college players.
